Try a Tint Shade Before You Book
Switch between the common VLT levels to see how each one looks on glass. Florida limits apply, and our Florida window tint law guide lists the legal figures for each window.

5% VLT Our darkest film. Florida does not allow anything below 6% on side or rear windows, so 5% is not street legal here.

15% VLT Strong privacy. On a car or sedan, this is close to the darkest Florida allows on the back side and rear windows.

20% VLT A dark, private look for back side and rear glass. Too dark for front side windows, which need more than 28% in Florida.
Popular choice35% VLT A balanced everyday shade. Legal on Florida front side windows, with good outward visibility at night.

50% VLT A lighter tint that still cuts glare. A good fit if you want comfort and heat control without a dark look.

70% VLT Nearly clear. Pair it with ceramic film to block heat and UV while keeping the factory look of your glass.

Two film lines
Ceramic or Carbon: Choose Your Auto Window Tint Film
The film we list carries 99 percent UV rejection, infrared heat rejection and a stealth look. We offer two film lines, ceramic and carbon.
Iridium (Ceramic Pro) Nano Ceramic Tint
Iridium from Ceramic Pro is our nano ceramic window film. It is the line to ask about when staying comfortable in Florida heat is your first concern.
Nano ceramic film uses microscopic ceramic particles to filter sunlight, which is where its heat comfort comes from.
Carbon (Matte Series) Tint
Carbon (Matte Series) is our carbon window film. Ask about carbon when the look of the glass matters most to you.
Carbon film uses carbon particles in the layer that darkens the glass, and the Matte Series gives windows a flat, low shine finish.
How to Choose Between Them
Not sure which line fits? Send us your vehicle and your main priority with your quote request, and we will point you to the right one. Either line can be quoted with any of the three coverage packages above.
Why tint
Benefits of Car Window Tinting Around Polk and Lake Counties
Window tinting is a thin film applied to the inside surface of a vehicle’s glass. It filters sunlight before it reaches the cabin, changing how much heat, light and ultraviolet radiation gets inside.
A Cooler Cabin After Parking in the Sun
Heat rejection film cuts down the solar energy that passes through the glass, which can help the cabin feel more comfortable after a vehicle sits in the sun. Infrared is the part of sunlight you feel as heat, and it is the part the film is there to filter.
UV Filtering for Skin and Upholstery
Ultraviolet light is the part of sunlight that fades and cracks seats and dashboards. Film filters it before it reaches the cabin, which helps protect your skin on longer drives and can slow wear on the interior.
Softer Glare Through the Glass
Car window film tones down harsh brightness from a low sun and from reflective surfaces. Your eyes strain less, so long stretches behind the wheel can feel more comfortable.
More Privacy for What You Leave Inside
Darker tint makes it harder for people to see into the cabin. Bags, tools or a laptop left on a seat are less visible to anyone walking past.

Step by step
How Our Mobile Window Tint Installation Works
Every step happens at the address you booked, from the first arrival to the final inspection.
We Arrive at Your Address
Your booking tells us where to go, whether that is a home in Polk County or an office in Lake County. The film and coverage you picked are installed there on site.
Glass Prep and Cleaning
A professional window tint installer deep cleans every window inside and out, removing dust, oils and old residue. Clean glass is the base of a smooth installation with no trapped debris.
Precision Film Cutting
Computer cut patterns are mapped to your exact make and model. Each piece matches the window’s shape, so the film fits with tight, even edges.
Heat Shrink and Application
Curved rear glass is heat shrunk so the film lies flat. The film goes on the inside of the glass with a slip solution, which helps keep the installation clean and free from visible debris.
Inspection and Cure
We check every edge, corner and defroster line before we leave. The film fully bonds over about 72 hours, so keep your windows up until the cure period ends.

Average commute
A 30 Minute Commute Means Time in the Sun
Workers in Polk County average a 30.5 minute trip to work and workers in Lake County average 30.2 minutes, according to 2020 to 2024 U.S. Census Bureau estimates. Much of that time is spent beside a side window facing the sun.

Summer highs
Summer Highs of 90 to 95 Degrees
From June through August, average highs in the Orlando area run from 90 to 95 degrees with high humidity, according to Visit Orlando. Polk and Lake counties are part of the same Central Florida region, and a long hot season is a common reason drivers here start looking at tint.
Storms
Summer afternoons
Afternoon Storms and Wet Road Glare
Afternoon rain is common through the Central Florida summer, usually for a short period, according to Visit Orlando. Light reflecting off wet pavement once the sun returns can create distracting glare through untreated glass.

Pricing
What Affects the Cost of Car Window Tinting in Davenport, Florida
Window tinting cost depends on a few choices, so a quote is built around your vehicle and not a flat price. These are the inputs that move the number.
Coverage Package
More glass means more film and more labor. Full Sides and Back, All Windows and Full Vehicle Plus Windshield cover different amounts of glass, so the package you pick is one of the main inputs to the quote.
Film Line
Ceramic and carbon are different window films, so the line you choose is part of the quote. Ask about both and compare them for your vehicle.
Vehicle Size and Glass Shape
A truck or large SUV has more glass than a coupe, and curved rear glass is heat shrunk to lie flat. The size of your vehicle and the shape of its glass both matter.
Old Film Removal
If your windows already carry old tint, ask whether removal is needed first, because it adds time to the job.
Dark Matter Tint does not list fixed prices on this page. Send your vehicle’s year, make and model and the package you want, and the free quote gives you a number for your exact vehicle.

Stay street legal
Florida Window Tint Law in Plain Language
Florida sets window tint limits by window position, under Florida Statutes sections 316.2952 to 316.2954. The main measure is light transmittance, also called VLT, which is the percentage of visible light that passes through the glass and film together. A higher percentage means a lighter tint.
This page gives general information and is no substitute for legal advice. The statutes themselves govern. The questions below cover reflectance and where the film is installed.
Front Side Windows
Side windows beside and forward of the driver must allow at least 28 percent light transmittance under section 316.2953. A film that lets through less light than that falls outside the limit.
Windows Behind the Driver
Under section 316.2954, passenger cars must allow at least 15 percent light transmittance behind the driver. Multipurpose vehicles such as SUVs, vans and trucks must allow at least 6 percent.
The Windshield
Under section 316.2952, sunscreening is allowed only along a transparent strip at the top of the windshield. It cannot reach into the driver’s direct forward viewing area, the AS 1 portion defined by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205.

FAQ
Mobile Window Tinting Questions Answered Before You Book
How does mobile window tinting work?
You send your vehicle details and the address where the vehicle will be, pick a day, and the installer comes to that address with the film. The tinting is done on site, from glass prep through the final inspection, as laid out in the installation steps above.
Is there a mobile tint service near me in Davenport or Polk and Lake County?
Yes. Dark Matter Tint comes to addresses in Davenport and across Polk and Lake counties, Florida, including Haines City, Champions Gate and Clermont. If your town is not one we have named on this page, call or use the form and ask whether your address is covered.
Can you tint my car at my house or at my work?
Yes, a home address and an office or facility address both work.
Is mobile window tinting as good as a tint shop?
The result depends on the film, the preparation and the conditions where the film goes on, not on the label mobile or shop. Dust, wind and humidity are what any installer has to manage outdoors, which is why glass prep, computer cut film and a final edge check matter. Ask any mobile installer about covered space and weather before you book.
Does Florida weather affect a mobile tint install?
It can. Rain, wind, dust and high humidity affect any film installed outdoors, and Florida summers bring heat and afternoon storms.
How long does mobile window tinting take?
Installs run from two to four hours, depending on the size of your vehicle. Plan the appointment around that window, and ask when you book if you want the time confirmed for your vehicle.
How much does mobile window tinting cost in Florida?
It depends on your vehicle, the coverage package and the film line, so Dark Matter Tint quotes each vehicle instead of listing one flat price. The cost section above explains each factor, and the quote is free.
Is it legal to get my car tinted at home in Florida?
Yes, as long as the film meets Florida’s limits. Those limits apply to the vehicle’s windows, so a mobile installation has to meet the same limits as one done in a shop. The limits are laid out in the Florida law section above.
Is mirror or reflective tint legal in Florida?
Florida allows some reflectance, but only up to a limit. Total reflectance of visible light may not exceed 25 percent on front side windows or 35 percent on windows behind the driver. A mirror finish can push glass past those caps, so ask about reflectivity before you choose a film.
Will window tint affect my phone or GPS signal?
Ceramic film is listed with zero signal interference, so it should not affect your phone or GPS reception. Carbon film is not listed that way, so ask us about it when you request your quote if signal matters to you.
