Glass Preparation
Each window is sprayed with slip solution, a soapy water mix, and worked with a hard card to lift fine contamination from the glass. Lint-free towels finish the wipe. Any grit left behind would sit under the film as a visible speck, so the glass gets a close look before film touches it.
Film Cutting
Film is cut to the shape of each window, and every piece is checked against the glass before it goes on. Clean, even edges matter most along the tops of door windows and around the curves of a rear window. Ask the installer to show you the fit before application.
Heat Shrinking and Application
On curved glass such as a rear window, the installer uses a heat gun to shrink the film so it lies flat. Slip solution goes on the glass, the film slides into place, and a squeegee pushes out the water and settles the film against the glass.
Inspection and Cure
Each window is inspected under light for dust, edge gaps, and trapped water. Keep the windows up for about 72 hours while the film bonds fully, because rolling them down early can disturb film that has not settled.
